Phresh Jeggings by Winter Wear Designs

Ronda Bowen, September 30, 2015October 1, 2015

Winter Wear Designs Phresh LeggingsMy gal has way too much fun – and she’s a lot of fun to sew for. I have a lot of recent makes (one thing I made for myself) to share with y’all (we had a gnarly cold run through our little house), but I’ll start with these “Phresh Jeggings” designed by Winter Wear Designs. I really love how they came out. They’re a lot of fun. I used a ponte knit for the main part of the leggings and then a regular black knit that I ran through my machine’s fancy stitches for the pockets and waistband. (I know I need to work on my band skills on getting my seams lined up perfectly on my bands. Tips? Please put them in the comments.  I’m always open to learning more about how to do what I do better!) I made these as a test pair, and I wanted to make a second pair, but my fabric is still very much in boxes. I have leftover white and yellow stretch twill from when I made my son his baseball shirt several months ago that I think would make a couple of great pairs of these for my little gal. (I can’t wait to get some cubes to unpack fabric into!)

There’s a lot of topstitching that goes with these – and if you’re upfor that,it really does make all the difference. I suggest, when you’re topstitching, to slow down. It’s not a race to get to the finish line. Don’t look at the needle, either! Just slow, steady, and fix your eyes on the edge of the foot and keep the fabric aligned to that. They were easy to make. The topstitching does take a little bit – BUT – if you’re patient it will pay off! I LOVE how these came out. They’re super cute – AND they’re kind of rock-starish. There’s an option to do a riding insert for them. That could be a lot of fun with this fabric as well. These are the 18 month size, and they fit my petite 21 month old perfectly. In fact, she was able to dance around with them on!

She’s a kick, I tell you! I really love how I was able to catch her personality in the pictures I took of her for the blog post!

What a super cute outfit! I really like the jeggings and boots. My daughter is about 20 months old and I know my wife would just love this on her. Your daughter’s personality really does shine through. Keep up the good work!
