The first Saturday in April is National Handmade Day. In honor of National Handmade Day, I want to highlight the artisanship of Fuchsia Shoes. Fuchsia shoes are made with passion, artistry, and love. Each pair of Fuchsia flats is handcrafted in a 30-step process. The result is beautiful and intricate. These elegant yet comfortable flats are flexible, durable and a work of art.

About Fuchsia Shoes
Fuchsia Shoes are a unique brand of handcrafted shoes – that are also sustainable. The owners of the company wanted to create footwear that is free from abusive labor conditions, unfair wages, and negative envrionmental impacts.
The shoes are made in Sangla Hill in Pakistan. They are created by a group of artisans who use the income from producing the shoes to support their community as well as their families. They receive a living income that provides them and their families with all the necessities – education, shelter, food, and healthcare.
The result is gorgeous and unique footwear that conscious consumers don’t have to feel guilty about. The leather is locally sourced and cleaned by hand, the shoes are hand-embroidered, and all of this results in not just aesthetically pleasing flats, but also extremely comfortable flats.
Some of My Favorite Pairs
I love “Marina.” This shoe is so elegant. It has hand-beaded and gold wire-work embroidery on a black velvet base. These flats would be perfect for an evening dancing, or wear them to dress up your jeans and t-shirt.
“Crown” is another favorite. This pair has a crown motif that has been attached to a red velvet fabric. This is another dressy pair – but they also are great for when it’s dry and cold outside. Wear these with your favorite holiday outfits.
“Portia” is so pretty. I would totally wear these with jeans, a white t-shirt, and a pretty floral kimono. These would also be cute with summer white jeans, a navy blouse, and a pink bag. Wear them with denim cutoffs and a light pink tank with a crochet duster. As you can tell, these shoes are really versatile.
“Sunflower” is another pair you can dress up or dress down depending upon your mood. This pair happens to be my favorite color. This is a pair that you can wear easily with your summer sundresses – how cute would these be with a crisp white eyelet dress with tie straps and a yellow or pink denim jacket – as well as with your favorite denim or khakis and summer tops.
“Sea Breeze” is a good everyday pair of flats. These are made with upcycled cotton jute fabric and like the rest of the Fuchsia Shoes, they are hand-embroidered. If you’re looking for a pair of ballet flats that will take you through all of the late spring and summer, this would be a good pair to invest in.
Most of the Fuchsia Shoes flats run $99. Limited edition pairs are $120. In addition to gorgeous ballet flats, the brand also makes solid-colored sneakers, face masks for kids and adults, and mask filters. Check them out!
