Book Review: The Fortuitous Pen & Giveaway

When you’re looking for a book that will heat up your cold winter nights, you might want to look for an erotic romance to read. Now, I’ll be honest. I read Fifty Shades of Grey – the whole series. I was at the point when I finished it, where if I ever heard the phrase “Inner goddess” again, I would scream. In general, erotic romance novels just aren’t my thing  – but I gave that series a chance because it was so popular. I kept reading, because it was like a bad traffic accident – horrible yet hard to look away from.

The Fortuitous Pen by Cara Anderson is sequel to Going the Distance.  This book picks up where the last left off. We start the book with main character, Austin, trying to balance her life between writing and love. Who doesn’t know the story of the work-life balance?

The novel is a quick read, and while I had to set my inner 12 year old to the side to get through it (I wanted to snicker at the sexy parts…because yeah, sometimes I just do that), it was a fine way to escape life for a little while. If you enjoy the kind of bawdy romance novel that marries a storyline with sex, you’ll probably get a kick out of it.

Author Bio

I’m the accidental author.

In so many ways, becoming a published author happened by chance.

For years, I’ve worked in the corporate world. My degrees are in business. Essentially, I’m a problem solver for corporations and government. So, you can imagine how much of a shift it was for me to sit down and write fiction.

During the summer of 2013, I put pen to paper. I let my sexy imagination loose and before I knew it I’d filled a more than a few pages. The characters came to life and a story began to take shape.

And so began, the greatest chapter of my life.

Writing has been cathartic. Becoming published has been exhilarating.

This journey isn’t over. I continue to write, as time permits. Another manuscript is in the works.
