Bella Sunshine Designs Alice Dress

Recently, I was able to serve as a pattern tester for the new Alice Dress sewing pattern created by Bella Sunshine Designs. This dress features box pleats, a Peter Pan collar and cap sleeves. The dress has a wonderful vintage feel to it, and it worked perfectly with this vintage floral cotton I had in my fabric stash. Options for the dress include a plain or bias embellished collar and a belt add-on. As you can see, it’s the perfect dress for a tea party. The pattern covers sizes 6m-12y. The dress is fully lined (including the sleeves), and it has an invisible zipper closure. It would pair perfectly with a little cardigan for spring or cooler weather.

Not only is this a great dress for tea parties, but it would also make a fantastic choice for an Easter dress if you are thinking ahead that far, especially when done up with a floral pastel jacquard fabric. As you can see in the photos, the dress is fitted, so it’s important to get those chest measurements exactly. My model is wearing the dress made in a size 6 months that has been blended with a size 2 for length. She loved her dress so much, that it was her choice to wear it each day for a week! She is wearing cowboy boots we found while thrifting, hair clips she borrowed from me, and gold tights by Total Girl.

I really love the vintage, classic feel of this dress, and I’m looking forward to making it again.

The pattern was released yesterday, and you can purchase it for $5.50 until Friday, January 20th at Bella Sunshine Designs here (affiliate link).
