There’s not much better than pajamas. They’re comfy, they’re warm, and, well they’re nice to hang out in, too. If mom makes them special, so much the better. I’m excited to be one of today’s stops on the Boys in Pajamas Blog Tours put on by Made for Little Gents for Sewing Blue Blog Tours and sponsored by Peek-a-boo Patterns. Be sure to read this post all the way to the end to enter for your chance to win $20 in patterns from Peek-a-boo Patterns. I received the Sweet Dreams Button-Up PJ Set as my chosen pattern for this tour.  The pattern was recently revamped and re-released.

ABOUT THE SWEET DREAMS BUTTON-UP PJ SET PATTERN

The Sweet Dreams Button-Up PJ Set Pattern is for the classic lapel front shirt and elastic-waisted pants, meant to be made with a woven fabric. You can use flannel or cotton woven (or I’m sure some other classic wovens would work well, too). The bottoms come in shorts length or pants length, with either a plain cuff or a ruffle cuff (I made the pants length with the plain cuff). The shirt comes with short or long sleeves options with plain or ruffled cuffs for it, and an optional pocket (I made the long-sleeve with the plain cuffs and the pocket). The Sweet Dreams Button Up PJ Set pattern costs $7.95 and you can purchase it here.

I’m really happy about the updates that Peek-a-boo Patterns has been making to their patterns. While I appreciated their earlier attempts to save people paper, I much prefer the use of layers and the easy to line up and fit together format that the pattern used. It made it much faster to tape the pattern together. The pants sewed up reasonably quickly, the shirt took a little more time, but this is a good pattern for someone wanting to sew up some PJ sets for the holiday season.

ABOUT THE FABRIC I USED

My little guy is currently obsessed with Paw Patrol, so I thought he’d love to have a pair of pajamas with Paw Patrol on them. The fabric is from JoAnns Fabric and Crafts. It’s a soft 100% cotton, that I figured he would like. It’s a little heavier than some other fabrics, but still moves nicely.

PHOTOS OF THE SWEET DREAMS BUTTON UP PJ SET

Excuse the flash photography. I don’t normally use it, but it was necessary as Mr. Almost 3 was extremely uncooperative until the sun had gone down! (He loves the pajamas, he just thought that I was trying to make him go to bed while the sun was still up…
