☕ FIRST SIP

Welcome to the first edition of Sunday Brunch with Well-Caffeinated Mom. This is where I share with you what’s been going on in my life, what I’m thinking about, etc. This week, I feel like I’m running behind on life since I’ve been sick for the past week and a half with this darned illness that just won’t go away. It’s not COVID. It’s not the flu. No clue what it is, but the cough is horrendous.

That said, I’ve been pretty productive lately. I’ve gotten all of my websites migrated to the same host. Most of them have been rebranded. I am proud of learning CSS to customize things on my sites. I have a new blog almost ready to launch. I have a new client inquiry. Things are good.

We’re in limbo, still waiting to find out if we’re moving this summer. I need this cough to go away so that I can get busy on The Grand Unf*ckening. Whether we move or not, our house is one giant never-ending whack-a-mole project. I need to be well enough to tackle things around here while my husband is at work b/c it’s 4 kids against 1 right now with me down for the count

I also recently took advantage of Poshmark and bought basically a whole wardrobe between them and StitchFix (This is my referral link, so if you decide to sign up using it, you’ll get a $25 credit, and I’ll get a $25 credit). I’m hoping to get some items of my own listed on Poshmark so that I can declutter stuff that doesn’t fit me or that I’ll never wear. One of my big 2026 goals is to start feeling like myself again after the grief years.

🗓️ THIS WEEK’S PLAN

  • Start The Grand Unf*ckening
  • Reorganize our homeschooling resources & get back on track to finish our year strong
  • Get the fridge repaired so we can menu plan since it decided to stop doing its one job
  • Get this punch needle kit well in hand (It’s more challenging than I’d expected and I’ve frogged it more than I’d like to admit.)
  • Finish the Winter Solstice Stitch-a-Long cross stitch I’ve been working on. I’m in the home stretch.
  • Finish the last bits of rebranding on the other blogs.

📖 FROM THE INTERNET

I’ve been getting back to following plus-size fashion influencers. I always feel better about myself when I see other women who are shaped like me out there killing it. I’ve followed Alissa from the Stylish Curves blog for a good long while, but lost track. I was so excited to see that she’s still blogging – and she has a YouTube channel, also called Stylish Curves. Check her out.

I’ve also been following the sassy Katherine Schiro on Facebook. I absolutely love her try-on videos. She just had her second baby a few months ago, and she’s chronicling all of the shopping woes we feel as plus-size women. Why can’t stores be consistent in women’s sizing? My closet, which I recently cleaned out, has clothing that fits me from a size medium all the way up to size 26. WHAT? Why is this possible?

Finally, since we’re on a plus-size fashion tangent, I came across a handy list of plus-size fashion resources on the female fashion advice Subreddit. While some of these stores I’d heard of, some are brand new to me. A commenter on that post also recommended the website Phoria, which I’ve really only just begun playing around with. You enter your measurements and fit, and filter for things that are important when purchasing clothing. Phroia returns a list of online stores that match your fit and filters.

🎵 CURRENTLY

A Pinterest-style infographic with a dark coffee cup background. The title "Sunday Brunch, May 24, 2026" appears at the top on a white and teal brush stroke. Eight yellow brush stroke labels list currently items: Reading — Hope Never Dies by Andrew Shaffer; Watching — Star Trek Voyager; Listening to — Love Is the New Gangsta by 6lack; Learning — German Refresher; Making — Punch Needle Squirrel; Drinking — Starbucks Medicine Ball Tea; Eating — Paris Baguette's Nutella Waffle; Obsessed With — Mini Coloring Books. The Well-Caffeinated Mom logo and website appear at the bottom.

Reading:

Hope Never Dies by Andrew Shaffer – I actually started reading this in March as a buddy read on Storygraph with my friend. It’s a ridiculous cozy mystery that follows Joe Biden and buddy Barack Obama as they dig deeper into the death of Joe’s favorite train conductor. It’s ridiculous and fun, and I don’t know why it’s taking me so long to finish it. (Cough. Probably would help if I actually read each day…)

Watching:

We’ve been working our way through the entirety of Star Trek. We just started watching Voyager, and last night’s episode (that we still need to finish because yours truly fell asleep sitting up) was focused on Beowulf.

Listening to:

Love Is the New Gangsta, an album by R&B artist 6lack. Check it out. I really like track 3, “All That Matters.”

Learning:

I’ve been pretty good about keeping up my Duolingo streak for German for a good stretch.

Making:

I’ve been learning how to do punch needle art. It’s been a process. I purchased one on Amazon – a squirrel with a green background. It claims to be for beginners. I’ve been deep diving YouTube videos. After seeing someone post a finished version that also doesn’t look like the cover image, I’ve resolved to finish this one and to stop frogging the yarn.

Drinking:

I’ve been downing Starbucks “Medicine Ball” tea.

Eating:

I’ve been obsessed with Paris Baguette’s Nutella selections, particularly the Nutella waffle.

Obsessing Over:

Web design and graphic design. No joke. I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get things “just right.”

☕ LAST SIP

I’m going to leave you with this “unhinged sign-offs” reel from Christian Mateo of Kinetic Labs. Thinking of sending emails with “unhinged” sign-offs had me cracking up all week. Post your favorite unhinged sign-off suggestion in the comments. (And if you’ve got suggestions for surviving my first punch needle kit without losing my mind, leave those too.
