☕ What’s In the Cup This Week: Paris Baguette’s new iced blueberry machiatto – I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty this was; I wasn’t sure because you know, blueberries and coffee don’t sound like they go together.
🎵 Theme Song: Lil’ Wayne “Drop the World.” What can I say? My stress has stress this week.

☕ FIRST SIP
The cough has finally gone away, but please, please, please knock on wood. Now, my knees have decided to sing the song of their people. I’m gearing up to (hopefully) take 16 Girl Scouts to Colorado, which will be a lot of fun for them. Maybe even for the adults. Now I just have to hope the joint pain I’m having isn’t a precursor to (yet) another illness.
It’s also curriculum planning time, so I’ve been putting together next year’s syllabi and purchase lists. My kiddos will be in 7th, 5th, 4th, and kindergarten, so it will be an interesting year. I know for sure I’m making use of Torchlight & Build Your Library. Stay tuned over at Just a Secular Homeschooler to see what else we’ll use and for my year wrap-up post.
The humidity has settled in, so I’m not happy about that. I’ve never been a summer person, but I’m definitely not a summer-in-Kansas person. I promise I will try not to complain too much about it. “Try” being the word of the day.
I did get the entryway and laundry room cleaned up, as well as the stairs, not that you can tell right now because my little mess makers left a trail after making forts on the stairs all week, but yay, progress. Another yay, though not my own, is that my kiddult has accepted a job offer and will be moving to a much better place to live.
🗓️ THIS WEEK’S PLAN
- Continue the grand unfuckening with the half bath and the family room
- Prepare for the Colorado trip with the troop
- Finish the 7th and 5th-grade syllabi
- Clear out client work before leaving
📖 FROM THE INTERNET
Have you watched Max Velocity? He’s a meteorologist who regularly posts on YouTube and goes live during severe weather events. He’s very good at what he does. If you live somewhere where you get severe weather, you’ll want to check him out and give him a follow. My kids enjoy watching him, too.

☕ LAST SIP
I won’t be here next week, but check back in 2 weeks to see if I survived Colorado with 16 Girl Scouts!
