What is Equator Coffee?

As a woman-founded company, Equator Coffee is proud to work with women at the cutting edge of specialty coffee year-round. This Women’s History Month, they are highlighting some of the best women-produced single-origin coffees from Sumatra to El Salvador, giving coffee lovers the chance to support women in the coffee industry and taste the incredible flavors they create.

Equator Coffee’s Women-Produced Coffees Collection includes four unique coffees from Rwanda, El Salvador, Sumatra, and Colombia. Each coffee has its own distinct flavor profile and is produced by women who are leading the way in coffee production.

About Equator Coffee’s Varieties

The Rwanda Nyampinga is a single-origin coffee from an all-women’s Rwandese coffee cooperative, with flavors of kumquat, violet, and honey. The El Salvador Finca Kilimanjaro Honey, produced by fifth-generation coffee producer and industry icon Aida Batlle, has flavors of dried cranberry, pear, and cocoa butter. The Sumatra Queen Ketiara Fair Trade Organic is a smooth coffee with flavors of vanilla, milk chocolate, and pipe tobacco, produced by the women’s cooperative Ketiara. Finally, Mary Sue and Susan’s Las Rosas Colombia is a coffee with flavors of golden raisin, walnut, and cocoa, produced by the Las Rosas Women’s Coffee Project in Colombia. Each bag sold benefits the Los Angeles LGBT Center and RE:Her nonprofit organizations.

The Snow Leopard Collection

In addition to the Women-Produced Coffees Collection, Equator Coffee is also offering the Snow Leopard Collection. This blend features coffee sourced from Las Rosas Women’s Group in Colombia and is designed to empower women coffee farmers by funding their microcredit loan program. On International Women’s Day, 100% of the proceeds from the Snow Leopard Collection will be donated to Las Rosas Women’s Group.

Supporting Women-Identifying and Nonbinary Food and Beverage Entrepreneurs

Equator Coffee is also committed to supporting women-identifying and nonbinary food and beverage entrepreneurs and leaders through its Cup For A Cause program. For every pour-over sold in Equator cafes, $1 will be donated to Regarding Her (RE:Her), a national nonprofit providing resources, mentorship, and small business grants to women and nonbinary entrepreneurs.

Equator Coffee’s dedication to supporting women in the coffee industry is admirable, and their Women’s History Month celebration is an excellent opportunity to support these women and taste their incredible coffees.
